Setting fitness goals can be challenging with our busy lives as we are easily distracted or lose enthusiasm. We all desire to live a healthy active life and to be in the best shape possible, but the realistic part is actually setting ourselves up to obtaining this. We are confronted on a daily basis with making the right decisions but it is easy for us to make the easiest decision. This plays a huge role in our diet and exercise. It is so much easier to go out to lunch with co-worker then to plan out our meals ahead of time. We would much rather be sleeping in or out with friends then at the gym. With this being said, it is up to us to make our fitness goals a priority!

I thought this was a great topic for my current situation. I have decided to up my workouts and set a goal for myself, train for 30 days to be fitness ready for a photo shoot! YES, I know CRAZY!! With my hectic work schedule, travel, various events around San Diego I attend regularly, and the list goes on.....HOW IN THE WORLD CAN I MAKE THIS HAPPEN?? Well the answer is simple, follow the acronym SMART fitness goal setting model.
  • S – (Specific, Significant, Stretching)
  • M – (Measurable, Meaningful, Motivational)
  • A – (Agreed upon, Attainable, Achievable, Acceptable, Action-oriented)
  • R – (Realistic, Relevant, Reasonable, Rewarding, Results-oriented)
  • T – (Time-based, Timely, Tangible, Trackable)
HERE IS MY NEW FITNESS GOAL OUTLINED USING THE SMART GOAL SETTING MODEL:
  • S ~ My goal is to have defined muscle tone at an amateur fitness model level for a modeling photo shoot.
  • M ~ I have always wanted to compete at some level in the fitness world and look up to the men and women who take pride in their bodies. Fitness is not only a passion of mine, but a way of life
  • A ~ I live a very active life, maintain a healthy diet and love a new challenge.
  • R ~ At this current point of my life I have professionally taken on the fitness world by providing Marketing and Branding services through my company, Prestige Insight, that are industry specific. I recently found passion in sharing my love and knowledge for fitness and a healthy lifestyle though this blog.
  • T ~ I have set the GOAL of 30 days which is a great time frame given the current condition of my body.
Once you have your fitness goal identified, you must then work on the details. For me the details I must pay close attention to are my diet, workout routine, adequate sleep, and keeping a journal. I will keep you all posted on my results and share fitness tips, healthy recipes and more! Wish me luck!!!
